Fairfax County Public Schools are in the process of switching their administrative software to iSIS. According to Fairfax County, the transition will occur in phases throughout this school year.
For Bryce E., Splendid’s Digital Products Coordinator; that means making sure Fairfax County continues to receive their images and student data in the format they need. Both the images and the data have to be compiled correctly or iSIS will not except uploads.
“Bryce: I was able to run a quick test of your Image CD today. The pictures load without issue. We do have to do a more in depth review but we appreciate you being so proactive!” - Marisue U. and Alan B., Information Technology, Fairfax County Public Schools, VA
Thanks Marisue and Alan. Don’t you wish everyday were picture day.
The Nottingham Elementary School Knights sat for their group and individual portraits today. It was a busy day because school enrollment is now over 500 students. But thanks to the always well-organized parents, office staff and teachers, picture day went smoothly and stayed on time.

We took group pictures in front of the dolphins in the gym because last year we took groups outside and everyone’s hair got blown around in the wind.
Faculty pictures started on time and the classes came down very organized. Thank you to Cathleen and the helping parents for making picture day a big success!
By the way, this is the 8th year Stratford Landing Elementary has made Splendid Portraits part of their community.

Susan Hurley, our Picture Day Coordinator at RCC, created this fantastic bulletin board to remind parents about the “most important day of the year!”
“Susan is just terrific”. She is so organized and just loves the kids. She puts so much time and energy into making Reston Children’s Center a special place that you can just tell that she loves what she does.” – Splendid Photographer, Michele H.
Established in 1967, shortly after Reston itself was established, RCC has served local kids and their families ever since. RCC is a non-profit parent-owned cooperative with parents on the Board and the committees that support the school. A Splendid Portraits client since 1994, we just love coming to RCC.
Thank you Susan and thank you RCC for allowing us to be a part of your community.
The Battlefield Middle School Warriors were photographed, over two days, during their PE Classes last week.
“As always, it went beautifully,” reported one school secretary.
Battlefield Middle, located in beautiful Spotsylvania County, is known as the “Crossroads of the Civil War”. Visitors to county can visit Battlefields National Military Park, Chancellorsville, Fredericksburg and Wilderness battlefields.
Spotsylvania is one of Virginia’s fastest growing counties, largely because of it location along I-95, midway between metro DC and Richmond.

“Perfect! I said hello in the morning and good bye in the afternoon. No problems at all. We love you guys”, said Trish Stach, our School Picture Day Coordinator at London Town Elementary School.
One other thing. Have you seen the London Towne Spirit Wear? Under Armour and Old Navy have nothing on these guys. Check out a very cool line of school spirit clothing.
